Our first annual fundraising dinner will be held on September 13, 2008 at Georgia State University (33 Gilmer St., Atlanta 30303) from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
We will turn the tables on our donors by providing home-cooked meals and serving them in exactly the same fashion as we serve to the needy of Atlanta every week. In that way, our donors can experience, in a limited manner, the feelings of dependence our clients feel.
We believe that by providing this type of experience our donors might be able to relate to the less fortunate people we serve. We also believe that it is only by the grace of God that we stand on the serving side of the table, while they must stand in line to receive our nourishing food.
Do you feel that this will be effective in raising awareness of how it feels to be dependent, and that it will motivate others to contribute to our efforts, either monetarily or by volunteering?
